The Catholic Diocese of Jasikan joyfully announces that the Holy Father has accepted the resignation of Most Rev. Gabriel Akwasi Ababio Mante from the pastoral governance of the Diocese. We express our profound gratitude to Bishop Mante for his dedicated and selfless service throughout his episcopacy.
At the same time, with hearts full of hope, we share the Holy Father’s appointment of Rev. Fr. Simon Kofi Appiah as the new Bishop‑Elect of the Diocese of Jasikan. Until his appointment, he has been serving as a lecturer in the Department of Religion and Human Values at the University of Cape Coast.
Profile of the Bishop‑Elect: Rev. Fr. Simon Kofi Appiah
Date of Birth:1st July 1964
Place of Birth: Teteman, Ghana
Bishop‑Elect Simon Kofi Appiah received his priestly formation at St. Peter’s Regional Seminary, Pedu, where he completed his philosophical and theological studies.
He was ordained a priest on 21st July 1990 for the then Diocese of Keta-Ho. Following the creation of the Diocese of Jasikan in 1994, he became incardinated into the new Diocese.
